Outlook Web Access (OWA)

This half-day class is intended to help students get used to Outlook Web Access with their City of Chicago email accounts.

Pre-Requisite Classes:

Attendees to this class must already have Outlook Web Access accounts with the City of Chicago.  Students who arrive in class without preexisting accounts will not be able to fully participate in the this class.  While not a prerequisite to this class, the NDS Training Center’s Email Writing Workshop is highly recommended as a complement to this class.

Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will:

·        Understand the principles of web-based software

·        Understand the OWA interface

·        Understand the various ways to address an email message and maintain contacts

·        Demonstrate scheduling and tracking calendar appointments

·        Know how to set up and use email group distribution lists

·        Be able to set reminders on email messages and calendar appointments

·        Be able to create and use folders

Part 3:  Contacts and Address Books

·         Entering a contact

·         Modifying and deleting contacts

·         Contacts from messages

·         Creating and modifying group distribution lists

Part 4:  Using the Calendar

·         The three types of calendar items

·         Entering appointments

·         Entering meetings

·         Checking status on meetings

·         Entering all-day events

·         Creating recurrent events

·         Changing calendar options
